My wife is always into hair products and is always working on her curls, so I figured this would be good for her to try.When she tried this for the first time, she said she wasn't sure exactly how much to use so it was an experiment. She has very thick, frizzy hair where curls just don't last long. So this is what she noticed:Smell: It has a very pleasant smell but is lightly similar to suntan lotion -- not as bad for sure --- but it reminded her of that smell. It also has a soft perfume-like smell as well which is not overpowering and very light. She actually really liked the smell a lot and that was one of the first things I noticed was how good she smells. I then realized it was her hair.Shine: This made her hair so super shiny and have a silky texture to it. But in some spots she feels she has too much shine but that she says that is her fault -- she used too much in some areas. But overall, on the areas where she put the right amount, her hair is shiny and looks great.Quantity: She said she tried too much on the first round so she quickly figured out it doesn't take a ton. On the spots on her head where she seemed to put too much, the curls are absolutely amazing and bouncy -- but they have a super slick look to them. Next time she plans to try a little less and be better about evenly distributing. She said her hands also are very moisturized, too.Curls & Frizz: Her hair did not have the typical frizz after blow-drying so she was relieved about that -- so far a big win. She didn't blow-dry a ton of curls into her hair, just some minor curling to see how well this does and so far after the full day they are still bouncy. They are not as bouncy as when she first showed off her hair to me, but they still have some of the curl which is better than any other products she said she has tried. Based on the texture of the cream, she highly thinks this is perfect for thicker, frizzy hair but not so sure on thinner, oilier hair.Overall, this is a huge win. Her hair looks great even with her mistakes in using it the first time. I honestly think it looks fantastic.

I’m growing out my pixie cut (it's more like a bixie, currently) and have thin, fine hair with some grays (maybe 15%?) and a wavy/curly (2b) pattern that's significantly frizz-prone. I tend to avoid air drying my hair at any length because the mixed curl pattern and frizz are so unpredictable that my hair looks different daily even if I use the exact same products. Unfortunately, my hair has even been difficult to blow dry and style throughout this grow out due to all my weird cowlicks. I was hoping if I found the right curl cream, I could attempt to air dry my hair for easier mornings (ha).I've never used any Amos products before, but they have definitely been on my radar as a K-beauty lover. This Curling Essence cream seemed like it might fit the bill, however, I'm just not sure it's right for my hair type and/or current style. I've tried using this multiple ways (as a blowout cream with full blow-dry/style, using on soaking wet hair and then air drying, attempting to use in a slick-back style on damp hair, etc, etc...) but I feel like this might be too heavy for my hair. No matter which way I've used it, and even with attempts to use as little product as possible and avoiding my roots, it seems to give my hair an almost greasy texture (though I will say, it manages my weird frizz remarkably well).On the other hand, both of my teenage daughters (each blessed with super long, thick, slightly wavy hair) have been loving this. They come into my bathroom every morning asking to use it and we've tried it on their hair as a finishing cream on fully dried waves/curls as well as using on damp hair for air-drying. On their hair, this delivers as promised, giving a super high-shine finish and helping to tame frizz while providing hold to their curl pattern.The bottle is a gorgeous matte lavender color with a premium-feeling flip-top cap for easy dispensing, and the generous 5 oz size will last FOREVER with the tiny amount needed. The cream itself is fairly thick with a very light, clean, citrusy scent.From my experiments, it seems this may be best suited for thicker and/or longer hair (or at least hair that's not in the middle of a weird in-between grow out, ha) and it does appear to manage frizz well and help hold a curl style. Be careful to avoid applying too much product, or at the roots. I'm disappointed this didn't work out the best for me, but happy my girls are loving it!

I've been using this hair cream for a bit now and I definitely like it, but it's not for all occasions. I appreciate that this hair cream can accentuate and define my curls giving it more shape and hold than an all-natural approach. The cream has a subtle but clean scent, is very lightweight, and doesn't leave a cast you have to let set and break like a lot of other products. This cream dries naturally and adds just that little extra "umph" to the definition of the ringlet curls and waves in my hair. I have very thin hair that is prone to frizzing, and this does a great job stopping frizz and helping maintain the shape reducing those fly-aways... but it doesn't work miracles and if you hit a breeze strong enough this product isn't going to save you. But, most products don't, especially ones that don't make a cast and are softer in your hair. So, while I this product, it works best on days I'm mostly indoors and just want a soft, styled, & held together look.TLDR: This is very lightweight, but does a great job and helping to define the curls/waves of your hair without being sticky or setting a cast. It leaves natural soft bouncy curls, holding well indoors but you'll still get a messy frizz in the wind. Overall, I think it's a good product at a fair value if you're going for a natural look with a low hold.

I likely went in with excessively high expectations given that this is a somewhat premium product based on the price per ounce.I have thin, low-porosity, 3A/3B curls and I'm always looking for the holy grail of products that encourages definition and shine without weighing down my curls.This AMOS PROFESSIONAL product avoids the biggest trap when it comes to curl products for me, which is the dreaded crunch/flaking/stickiness that you get from some curl products. There was none of that, which I appreciate.I did my usual routine but swapped this in for the curl cream that I typically use (I apply curl cream and then a lightweight gel before using my Denman brush and scrunching).There wasn't a marked difference from my regular curl cream; if anything, I think this resulted in looser waves versus tighter curls, but they were soft and touchable and looked and felt healthy, so if you're into more of the bomshell blowout curl vibe vs. ringlets, this might be your vibe. I think I need something lighter.It's important to note that this product has a lot of silicone, which is controverial in the curl world. Personally, my curls don't seem to mind silicone as long as it's not in an overall heavy product, but it's important to know what you're getting into so you can decide on the probability of effectiveness for you.I will likely not be repurchasing since I think this is a little too heavy for my hair, and the price is hard to justify when it's not a slam dunk, but I do think this will be effective for the right type of curls.Note that this washed out easily and didn't irritate my (somewhat sensitive) skin or scalp, so that's a plus.

Good product. The waves stay wavy. Soft to the touch. It can be reactivated later in the day with wet hands. I wish it had just a bit more hold. If you run your hands through your hair a lot, it will release the curls but can be wet again to bring it back but won’t be as voluminous.

This is already my 3rd purchase! It smells great, and I love how it naturally holds my curls. Plus, it doesn't leave any sticky residue, so it's perfect for daily use. Highly recommend!

I tried to apply this to damp hair, scrunch and air dry, after my perm and I will say, it helps to define my curls more but still kept it looking soft and wavy without the crunch or sticky residue feel, so it's effective. There is a light citrus-floral scent that's pleasant but not overpowering. Keep in mind, this product is really for hair that has been permed or already has wave/curl structure. If your hair is naturally straight and you're hoping this will create waves from nothing, it ain't happening. Using the right amount matters too — using too much and it weighs hair down and it will definitely feel sticky, use too little and you won't see the effect. If you can get this when there's a sale, it's worth trying.

Leaves my hair looking shiny, it has a soft light smell to it and feels lightweight. I have wavy hair. After using it, my hair still gets frizzy and it doesn’t hold the curl.

I didn’t hate this, but it’s also not something I reach for every time I wash my hair. It’s a light cream-gel type texture, and it spreads easily through damp hair. I usually just use a small amount, scrunch it in, and let my hair air dry. It helps a bit with frizz right away, especially at the top and around the ends where my hair usually gets puffy.What I noticed is it gives more of a “controlled wave” look than actual curl definition. My hair looks a little more shaped and less messy, but not like styled curls or anything dramatic. It definitely keeps things softer and more natural, which I liked.The finish is pretty clean ,o sticky or crunchy feeling once it dries, which is a big plus. My hair still feels like hair, not product-coated hair. But the hold is on the lighter side, so by later in the day my waves loosen up and some frizz comes back, especially if it’s humid or I’ve been outside.
